只有一位 神，在 神和人中间，只有一位中保，乃是降世为人的基督耶稣（提前2：5）。 以色列啊，你要听！耶和华我的 神是独一的主（申6：4）。中保本不是为一面作的， 神却是一位（加3：20）。我们与我们的祖宗一同犯罪，我们作了孽，行了恶。我们的祖宗在埃及不明白你的奇事，不记念你丰盛的慈爱。所以他说要灭绝他们，若非有他所拣选的摩西站在当中，使他的忿怒转消，恐怕他就灭绝他们（诗106：6，7，23）。
